A tube worm on a hard coral. Caribbean reef squid are a fairly common site on the reefs around Roatan. A feeding octocoral. A slender filefish hides among soft coral. An Arrow crab hides in a vase sponge. A blenny peeks out from a hole in the coral. An eel of some type pokes it's head out of the sand. A lizardfish holds it's dinner before swallowing. Jawfish are mouthbrooders meaning that their eggs hatch in their mouths, where the new-born fry are able to be protected from predators. R A slender filefish A sand dollar. The Flamingo Tongue belongs to a family of snails called "false cowries" (Ovulidae) which live and feed on gorgonian soft corals. Flamingo tongue. A jawfish with eggs. They feed on algae and invertebrates. A shrimp on an anemone. A peacock flounder. A caribbean reef octopus A caribbean reef octopus eye. A sharptail eel winds it's way through the seagrass looking for food.  Taken in the bay at West End in about 5 feet deep.
